Tessa Thompson

The actor Tessa Lynn Thompson was born on October 3, 1983 in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter musician and singer Marc Anthony Thompson and the daughter of the actor and musician Bobby Ramos. She was born in Los Angeles and raised there before relocating to Brooklyn. Her mother is of Mexican and British Isles heritage, while her father is African-Panamanian. Thompson has attended Santa Monica High School, where she was featured in several theatre productions. She attended Santa Monica College after graduation and obtained a cultural anthropology degree. In a performance at Pasadena's Boston Court Theatre, she performed the role of Juliet in Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". The show was nominated for an NAACP Theatre Award in the same season.
