Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Sullivan was born in and raised from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam, Jazmine's mother, is an ex-backup singer from Philadelphia International Records. At 5 years old, she joined Philadelphia International Records. old, her father was offered in the role of curator for The city's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family moved into the landmark historical building. She was a graduate in 2005 of Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts where she was a vocal music major. Sullivan began singing in contralto with the children's choir. She then sang just a few years later, in the adult group. Sullivan experienced only a small amount of secular music. She recalls when she was in her 11th year when someone requested her to sing in a solo in church. The singer wasn't fully ready. At that time, McDonald's held a contest for kids in big cities. I was selected to perform "Accept The Grace God Gives" on the show Showtime At the Apollo. And the public was extremely supportive. In the year 13 she sang along in a duet with Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday. Sullivan signed her first contract with Jive Records when she was 15. Sullivan was initially signed by Jive Records when she was 15. She recorded an entire album. However, this album did not see release. Sullivan was eventually dropped out of the company. The singer maintained a relationship with Missy Elliott, who produced several tracks from her debut, including the buzz single "Backstabbers" which was produced by Timbaland and written by Elliott.
